Age Care Spain – Information line
Age Care is a charity providing assistance to the community. It offers a charity shop and drop in centre in Calahonda (Mijas Costa) and regular coffee mornings in Calahonda, Fuengirola and Alhaurin el Grande. For people that do not live near one of these areas the volunteers may be able to provide initial information and assistance over the telephone, including pointing you to local services in your area.
The volunteers can help with (depending on geographic location): assistance filling out forms, translation, interpretation, driving you to hospital or doctors appointments, helping with shopping or collecting prescriptions. It can also assist with applying for UK or Spanish benefits and registering with the town hall padrón. It also assists with finding private health care, insurance and lawyers. They hold regular coffee mornings and transport can usually be provided by the volunteers.
