Cesida – National coordinator
Cesida is a national coordinator supported by the government coordinating different charities and organisations throughout Spain that can provide information and guidance on HIV, Aids and also sexual health and infections in general (not just HIV/Aids).
To find possible closer organisations to you, you can use a map on their website link (below) to identify organisations nearest to where you live. While not all Spain appears to be covered on the map, Cesida is made up of 75 groups that represent more than 120 organisations across Spain, therefore we recommend you find the group on the map nearest you in order to ask for details of any closer provision to your home that may be available using that group’s local knowledge.
English will often be spoken as well as Spanish/local languages but this is not guaranteed all the time. If you cannot use a Spanish speaker to help you, organisations will usually do their best to help regardless, as their main focus is protecting the sexual health of the community and, as such, help many people who may not speak much Spanish.
Contacting these organisations is not a replacement for urgent medical advice if needed but they can provide guidance, confidential advice and support and alternatives for testing on sexually transmitted infections. The Cesida website overall also provides useful information on HIV/Aids and sexual health in Spain but is currently only available in Spanish.
