Policia Nacional – Málaga
The National Police will process a UK national’s residency certificate, part of the process for accessing public services in Spain
Your residency certificate (green A4 paper or card) is needed to then register on your local town hall’s census roll (‘go on the local ‘padrón’) as proof of living in the area for future social care needs and to allow you to sign on at your local health centre/doctors surgery. For details of the process to ask for a residency certificate see our Helpful Topics section. It is highly recommended that UK nationals resident in Spain ask for the residency certificate as soon as possible, whatever their personal or financial circumstances, state of health or intention of staying in Spain in the long or short term.
