Privacy Policy – last updated 19/02/2023

Support in Spain is a registered charity in Spain and operates the www.supportinspain.info website.

Your privacy is important to us. You can use this site freely, in confidence and confidentially. No name or contact details are ever required to use it at any time. (If you choose to make an online donation to support our work we do ask for your name and email).

Below we explain the type of information and/or personal data we may collect in certain circumstances and your rights.

Data on website usage patterns to help us improve

We do monitor how this website is used by visitors in order to improve it. We use a common tool called Google Analytics, but all data sent is made anonymous and Google, who processes it, is not allowed by us to use it nor share it.

We look at things such as the ranking of which pages are most popular over time by all our users, how long people use the site for overall and which overall geographical areas they are from. It really helps make the website better in the future for others that may need help.

The usage data sent for processing may include information such as a computer’s/phone’s/tablet’s internet protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our service that are visited, the time and date of a visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. This data is totalled up and/or viewed anonymously so nobody can ever be identified individually.

You can see more on this analysis on our Cookies Policy here (including how to opt out). By agreeing to our Cookies Policy, you agree to us analysing this data.

From time to time we may share and discuss the total summary data with other third parties involved in the Support in Spain project in order to improve the service for everyone.

When you contact us

The only usual way to contact Support in Spain is if you send us an email; your email address will therefore be stored by us. We keep details of your email for up to twelve months. If you send us an email you agree to us holding your email address on our files, although you can ask us to delete it or change it at any time, which we must do (see below).

If you ask us a question in the email, we will use the information you provide to help answer that question but we will not share identifiable personal data with anyone else without your permission.

When you make a donation

We are a registered non-profit charity. We allow users to make an optional donation to keep our website running. When you do so you will be asked for your name and email address. This is so we can send you a receipt and contact you if we have any questions. We do not have access nor store any credit card details.

To help us process information on donors and payments we use a trusted global payment gateway called Stripe, like thousands of online websites processing payments. You can find out more about Stripe privacy policies by clicking here.
