Age Care Costa del Sol – Information line
Age Care Costa del Sol is a charity providing assistance to the community. It offers a day centre (open part of the week) with regular coffee mornings and advice on hand in the El Chaparral area of Mijas Costa plus a charity shop and basic information in nearby Calahonda (Mijas Costa). There are also regular coffee mornings in Coín (for Coín and Guadalhorce Valley).
For people in Malaga province and the Costa del Sol who do not live near one of these areas, the volunteers may be able to provide initial information and assistance over the telephone, including pointing you to local services in your area.
The volunteers can help with (depending on geographic location): assistance filling out forms, translation, interpretation, driving you to hospital or doctors appointments, helping with shopping or collecting prescriptions. It can also assist with applying for UK or Spanish benefits and registering with the town hall padrón. It also assists with finding private health care, insurance and lawyers. They hold regular coffee mornings and transport can usually be provided by the volunteers.
