Age Care – Mijas Costa
Age Care is a charity providing assistance to the community. The volunteers can help with: assistance filling out forms, translation, interpretation, driving you to hospital or doctors appointments, helping with shopping or collecting prescriptions. It can also assist with applying for UK or Spanish benefits and registering with the town hall padrón. It also assists with finding private health care, insurance and lawyers. They hold regular coffee mornings and transport can usually be provided by the volunteers.
Age Care Costa del Sol has a day centre on Mijas Costa in the El Chaparral area. Here it offers regular coffee mornings for social support, as well as a drop-in opportunity to receive assistance. There are also activity classes arranged.

General info number for Age Care – 635 407 255. Monday – Friday 10:00-18:00, Saturdays 10:00-14:00. Outside of these hours there is an answering service in place.
Age Care has a welfare officer for Mijas/Mijas Costa, Fuengirola/Los Boliches and Alhaurín el Grande/Coín.
It works with local English-speaking private healthcare and social care providers.
Age Care also has a busy charity shop in El Zoco, Calahonda (also in Mijas Costa), for donations of good quality items, as well as information on the charity and its services (Shop: Open Monday-Friday 10:00 to 16:00. Call (0034) 648 789 845).
