024 Suicide prevention – national helpline

The 024 helpline provides a place for people to talk, on the phone, through their depression or suicidal thoughts or similar issues that are concerning them. This is an initiative funded by the national government and operates 24 hours a day. Trained staff listen to callers’ concerns carefully and sensitively. They can answer callers in many languages through the help of a teletranslation service. The number does not appear on phone bills (but you may need to delete it from the call record on your own phone handset if you want to).
