A major national charity offering support for cancer patients and their friends and family. There are a number of groups in Tenerife, including a centre in the south of the island in Los Cristianos who are able to provide psychological and practical support to cancer patients and their families in that area, with some English spoken. The centre in the south offers the full range of support, including as well physiotherapy and a courtesy weekday daily transport service, stopping in southern towns and resorts, to the northern Candelaria hospital for appointments and treatment (if doctors are made aware, appointments can be timed to fit in with the bus). Bus starts route in Adeje at 8.30am. You should call first to check and confirm details.There is also an AECC liaison office in the Candelaria hospital for patients and families to appproach, and the charity owns apartments near the hospital for people that need to stay close to it during treatment.
