AECC – Gran Canaria
The AECC is Spain’s main cancer charity and has an operation on Gran Canaria. The main centre is in Las Palmas and there is a satellite station, staffed by a phycologist and/or volunteers, in a public building in San Fernando, Maspalomas (south of Gran Canaria). They can provide social and psychological support for patients and their friends and family. In addition, volunteers and staff are on hand if required in main hospitals. They can also provide some adapted equipment, prostheses and wigs on free loan, subject to a basic needs-based interview.
