Age Concern Costa Blanca Sur
Age Concern is a long-established organisation offering English-speaking support and guidance to the older resident community, their friends and relatives. It seeks to foster coooperation between the generations and integration of the expat community into the Spanish way of life.
Besides the day centre, the group can provide loan of mobility aids, a befriending services called Keep in Touch and advice on personal alarms and telecare. They also operate a volunteer home visit programme for people living on their own.
Age Concern Costa Blanca Sur can also provide a range of information and guidance through the day centre on where to find other support available in the area, including benefits, help from social services, qualified carer or residential services, local interpretation and translation services (Age Concern are unable to personally provide personal care, tenancy support or domestic help but should be able to point a person in the right direction. All requests are treated confidentially).
