Arrels Fundació
The Arrels Fundació (Foundation) focuses on reducing long-term homelessness and vulnerability in Barcelona. It has a drop-in centre, known as the Centre Obert or Centro Abierto, in the centre of Barcelona, on Carrer Riereta, in the Raval district close to Las Ramblas. In addition it organises street teams who help identify people in need on the street. The organisation maintains a good, up-to-date overview of the places available for homeless people, or people in need of emergency food, clothing or welfare support.
The drop-in centre (Centre Obert) offers showers and locker space as well as advice and social worker support. Staff and volunteers can direct to resources elsewhere in the city for a particular need. The website provides a good, up-to-date overview of how to access help if on the street in Barcelona.
