British Benevolent Fund (BBF)- Costa Blanca and Murcia Partners
Financial fund based in Madrid for emergency and hardship. For residents in Alicante province and Murcia Region (including the Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida) as well as southern Valencia province, applications must be made through partner organisations including Age in Spain and the Royal British Legion (at a national level) and Age Concern (Costa Blanca Sur and Costa Cálida); Help at Home (Costa Blanca South); Help International – Benidorm; Help – Denia and Marina Alta; Jalon Valley Help; Help Vega Baja; MABS Cancer Support. For other areas please contact the BBF itself for guidance. Funding can be made in extreme cases to help return residents to the UK to live.
Based in Madrid but can be applied for via partner organisations. This is a fund for last resort cases e.g. applicants will not be accepted if they have savings, or friends/family who could assist. There are specific criteria in order to become a beneficiary (see website). They may fund the following: repatriation costs, one time grants (e.g. for mobility aids, carers, or medical care), & short term financial relief.
