Cancer Care Javea
A cancer support charity founded in 1998 and operating out of Javea (Xàbia), although helping across northern Alicante province and into nearby towns in Valencia province if needed. Services include psychological and medical support; assistance for patients, friends and relatives; liaison with doctors and hospitals; interpreting and practical assistance with materials such as wigs and prosthetics; bereavement support.
The group runs a fundraising shop in Javea which also serves as an information point for people with questions about the service. In addition there is now a Chic Boutique for designer secondhand clothes and in this second store a counselling centre and the charity’s base office. There is also a phone advice line.
