Cancer Support Group Mallorca
Cancer Support Group Mallorca (CSG) is an established charity offering practical and emotional support for cancer sufferers, their families and carers. A team of volunteers provides wide-ranging services including guidance on cancer treatment in the Balearics and counselling and nutritional advice. A buddy system of others that have experienced cancer is also available. In addition, the team can assist with going with somebody to appointments, hospital visits, with translation/interpreting and transport. Wigs and prosthetics and wheelchairs can be lent or sourced. Other mobility and adapted equipment can be sourced. Support can also be given on bureaucracy and paperwork especially for healthcare. All volunteers speak English and some speak Spanish.
Drop-in Centres are run in four different locations. Every Monday 10:00-13:00 – AAVV Centre, Carrer Lluna 3, Portals Nous (and at Hospital Manacor every other Monday-check times in advance) / Wednesdays 10:00-13:00 Son Llatzer Hospital, Palma; Racó d’Associacions (Charity Corner) in the main hall of outpatients / Thursdays 10:00-13:00 Son Espases Hospital, Palma; Block N Floor -2, Room 216 (in front of reception).
