Confed. Salud Mental España
The Confederacíon Salud Mental España (Mental Health Spain Confederation) is the representative body of mental health support charities across Spain for those affected and their families.
The confederation’s knowledge of mental health support services available across Spain and also ability to direct to more local help could be useful if there is no immediate local help apparent to you in your area. Although the website is in Spanish, their mental health guidance service (“Servicio de Orientación en Salud Mental”) can answer emails in English.
Support can be quite comprehensive from the Confederation and its members although it cannot offer medical and/or psychiatric attention. It is not a substitute for seeking medical attention, for example at a health centre if needed. Its role is to support those affected and their families including through social-worker-trained assistance or psychological or legal support.
