FACT Cancer Care
FACT is based in the south of Tenerife and focuses on fighting cancer, providing English-speaking support for sufferers and their families through volunteers giving up time. They can offer a wide range of support from emotional help, practical assistance from transport to hospital for treatment or translation, or mobility equipment or help applying for benefits or care. The volunteer team also supports in the home on some occasions, after or during care. The team also dedicates a lot of time to fundraising and raising awareness in the community.
FACT mainly focuses on the south of the island where its volunteer base is and where most English-speaking residents are, however they may be able to help with translation and interpreting for cancer patients at the northern Candelaria hospital, or giving contacts who can.
