Lions Club La Cala
The Lions Club La Cala is the only majority English-speaking group locally of the International Lions organisation. It raises money for charity donations and charity work in Spain and overseas. Programmes are diverse and cover all aspects of society and people of all ages.
La Cala Lions offers a testing and advice service on diabetes for anyone on the Costa del Sol who can travel (See also the entry in this directory for Diabetes Group La Cala Lions).
In addition, the organisation helps run a support group for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients resident in Mijas and Mijas Costa, their families and carers. (See also the entry in this directory for Alzheimer’s Group La Cala Lions).
The Lions Club also has charity shops on Calle Torremolinos, which is towards the seafront in La Cala de Mijas. Donations of secondhand goods and volunteers’ time are welcome. See the La Cala Lions own website for more full details.
