MACS Cancer Support Group

MACS is a fully registered Spanish charity. Founded in 2008. Serving patients, survivors and carers from Almeria to Velez Rubio. MACS is an informal and friendly group of patients and survivors. They meet on an informal basis to offer one to one & group support, the company of people who know what it’s like to have treatment and ongoing friendship, fun and social opportunities. Confidentiality is assured if required and friends and family of patients and survivors are also welcome.

Coverage area and additional information

In addition to MACS fundraising shops, regular support groups are held in the Mojacar area and also the Albox/Huercal-Overa area. All supporters are volunteers who provide help and advice to cancer patients, for example and pending an initial evaluation; accompany patients on hospital visits, organise medical translators for hospital and doctors appointments, arrange translations of hospital documents, provide information regarding the sourcing of medical equipment, prosthesis etc, home visits to assist with shopping and/or to offer patients and family opportunity to talk.
