SOJ Legal Aid Advice – Valencia province
Legal advice can be provided free of charge under Spanish law for people on low incomes if they are facing a legal process or think they wish to start one. In the first instance ask for an appointment in person for an initial free assessment of your issue, as part of the ‘Servicio de Orientación Jurídica’ (SOJ) (Judicial Guidance Service) or visit your nearest centre. See the weblink below for a general explanation of the SOJ in Spain and how to find your nearest centre.
In Valencia province, most of the province, including the south of the area, is covered by the Valencia Lawyers Association (Cloegio de Abogados de Valencia). The web is www.icav.es/ver/110/servicio-de-orientacion-juridica.html. They also have satelite offices in Llíria, Gandia, Ontinyent, Xàtiva and Requena among other places for enquiries, although the SOJ appointment may not always be arranged there. It is advisable to go with a Spanish or ValenciaN speaker if required. SEE ALSO THE WEBLINK BELOW FOR A GENERAL INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SOJ SERVICES IN SPAIN.
